Charlie made his first "official" road trip this weekend ... he and I have driven back to Bloomington to meet all of his aunts and uncles. With the three-day weekend, I thought we would take advantage and see how he did ... he was GREAT in the car on the way here (keep your fingers crossed for a smooth ride back to Kansas on Monday). There is nothing big planned for the weekend, but he has been able to meet all of his aunts and uncles now and he has had ALOT of bonding time with his Grandma Wulf.
Before we left for the weekend, we made a trip to the pediatrician for his 6 week check-up. He continues to do great! He is weighing in now at 7 lbs 7 ozs, which is a whole 3 pounds more than he weighed at birth. He is eating great and really starting to become more attentive to things around him. He does sleep quite a bit, but when he is awake, those big blue eyes (yes, they have turned from brown to blue) seem to be wide awake. That head gets a moving too and you have to be careful with the "bobblehead."
Daddy Eric stayed back in Kansas for the weekend to work. He had some things to catch up on with work as this past six weeks has been a whirlwind. Charlie's official due date is actually Monday so we consider ourselves VERY blessed that he is doing so great. I have almost found it humorous as people ask if he is a newborn when the see him because he is still so small and I can reply "no ... just over 6 weeks!"
Things tend to change when you least expect them to ... it is God's way of putting things into perspective.
